All members are invited to join the Delaware Valley Chapter at historic Odessa Delaware.
Our meeting will begin at 0900 with a brief discussion of Chapter business and of SAPFM future plans and events. There will be time for some show and tell and possibly a presentation by a chapter member. Lunch will be on our own in Cantwell’s Tavern. Cantwell’s has excellent Burgers and flat breads for a reasonable price. The afternoon will include a tour of two of the historic houses. Philip D. Zimmerman will be guiding the tour. Philip is well recognized as a Museum and Decorative Arts consultant. Philip has written many articles about early Delaware furniture. I will ask interested members to comb the Historic Odessa website that includes a photo gallery of some of the furniture that is displayed in the historic houses. Philip is interested in interacting with furniture makers. Discussing methods and approaches that we use to construct period pieces is feedback that Philip will appreciate.
This tour is open to 12 members. Space is limited. The cost will be 50$. Lunch at Cantwell’s is the responsibility of each member. Interested members please respond with several topics or specific pieces of furniture that suit your interest. Tim Sabo has put much time and effort into coordinating this event. Let’s make it a success.
