Maine Coast Workshop | Woodworking School

We desire to preserve and foster a greater awareness and respect for our unique heritage of fine American craftsmanship while passing on the amazing skills of the early American craftsmen and women.  Our instructors are chosen based on reputation as the best in the world at their craft, and just as importantly, their unsurpassed success as teachers of all ability levels, from complete novice to advanced professionals.

Florida School of Woodwork

In a time when many are seeking fresh ways of problem solving, seeing differently and communicating effectively, the School of Woodwork offers an opportunity for people of all skill levels to spend a weekend, a week or several  immersed in craft of designing and making furniture, carving and tuning.

For some, it is the opportunity to study with leading, nationally-recognized makers who travel to the School to teach specific workshops and serve as the School’s foundation in ensuring the highest quality of innovative instruction. For others, it is the exceptional, well-equipped workshops where students can work safely and confidently in a professional-level environment. For many, it is the daily engagement among a diverse group of people from different backgrounds, coming together to learn and work in a supportive, creative environment.

The Darrell Peart School of Precision Woodworking

Darrell Peart started his career making and selling small wooden items at Seattle’s Pike Place Market. To broaden his experience, he then worked for many years in various high-end custom shops throughout the Puget Sound area gaining an extensive background in both commercial and custom furniture making.

Marc Adams School of Woodworking

MASW is a very busy place with lots of activities during the week. Class instruction and use of power equipment goes from 8:00 a.m. to around 6:00 p.m. each weekday. After 6:00 p.m., when the power equipment goes off, students are more than welcome to stay and work, socialize, or do research in the library.

Instructors: Mary May, Ben Hobbs

Courses focus on traditional joinery and hand tool use. Modern power tools are used on projects, including bandsaws and routers. People all at skill levels have benefited from these classes.

Dedicated to promoting excellence in craftsmanship and in developing superior hand and machine woodworking skills. Workshops are designed to satisfy beginner, intermediate and advanced woodworkers in a relaxed, hands-on format.

Each SEVEN day class will take you, step-by-step, through the process of hand crafting a Brian Boggs designed chair. They cover every aspect of making a ladderback chair, beginning with lumber selection all the way through final assembly using hide glue.
